The company also produces bespoke pieces for royal palaces, exclusive casinos, and elite family residences world over.

ASIF RAHMAN

Asif Rahman’s fascination with carpets began in 1988 after his graduation from the Calcutta University in the field of Science. His first job as a fresh graduate was to head the installation team for a renowned carpet showroom in Park Street, Calcutta, India. Within three months of his tenure, he was promoted to a sales executive for his passion and interest in the product. The rest is history.

For his immense knowledge and passion, Asif is invited to sit across international giants from the field from countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, China and Dubai, USA & UK for discussions on reuse, renew, recycle and go-green initiatives in the carpet industry. He is often invited as a guest lecturer by the Indian Institute of Carpet Technology (IICT) and has so far given over 100 free workshops on carpets to design institutes across the world. His passion for green and sustainable production processes in the field is seen through his varied initiatives and efforts.

PRODUCTION

Asif Rahman’s manufacturing unit in Badohi is a ‘Fleece to Floor’ process under a state of the art fully integrated production facility.

EXPERTISE

In his production facility the company produces a wide variety of carpets designed in different methods of carpet weaving such as flatweave, hand tufted, hand knotted, Persian, Nylon etc.

Flatweave

When the world is tired with pattern and colour, it automatically moved towards textural beauty and Flatweave is in fashion these days as nothing else justifies more of a textural beauty than Flatweave.

Hand Tufted

Hand Tufted still remains the best specification which can go beyond the boundary. No limitation of size, colour and construction. Being manually produced one can stop at any stage of production and change the process of production. To create the constructional beauty with colour play and unlimited design option Hand Tufted remains the most opt for production process.

Hand Knotted

Hand Knotted in 2021 has gone beyond the boundary of Persian floral motif to a very modern textures and pattern. The process of weaving remain same as 16th century but capable to rule all other construction yet as this is ultimate to create pattern, textures and luxurious royal rich look.

Persian

A rug which never disturbs any décor is ideal for fine hand knotted Persian rug mostly made in Iran, Turkey and Kashmir in India. Simply because of usage of high number of colours, and very intricate pattern any of the rugs can look beautiful in any décor.

Nylon Print

Post Covid when the hospitality sector looks for a very reasonable flooring solution, nylon print came as a blessings to them. It is good for 3 to 4 years on a high traffic area and value for money with fastest possible production lead time.

BESPOKE

Depending on the nature of the property, Rahman articulates,

“every place has a very distinct carpet style.”

For instance, his carpets commissioned for the Taj Pierre in New York are fine wall to wall hand knotted carpets (which are normally used as rugs). They are very different in nature from the carpets created for MGM Grand Casino that used finishing process by a herbal wash of henna and tea leaves to give them an antique look.

Taj Pierre, New York

Adding to their roster of pride are the carpets he created for the super exclusive La Samaritan (designed by Alexia Leleu) by LVMH in Paris.

“The carpets are woven from four different directions at the same time to create a sort of illusion. So, when you look at the carpet it will look different from all four sides.”
