The Aim of the architectural project is recreating an SHOPPING CENTRE as a much-desired public space in semi urban area.
Objective
1. To design the hub taking into consideration of climatic condition and site considerations. 2. To create a focal point and create a iconic image and landmark of the city. 3. To create such spaces where people find to spend their leisure time and have interaction with others
Need/ Significance of the project
Thus, there is a need for a centre/ place where various entertainments for the people at large can be grouped together, and at an affordable cost. Moreover, there is an urgent need in the city for a place which houses indoor gaming, multiplexes, amusement area, exhibition halls and other spaces for people from all strata of the society; which helps revive the fast-dying culture of the city.
Scope
In every project, it is absolutely necessary to define the scope and limitation of the project, right at its conception. This defines the range of one’s thought process as well as the areas and activities regarding the project. In this project, the scope can be outlined by the user group, the functions and their applications and effect on the society by Entertainment Centre.
Limitation
Being an academic project, the limitations of the project can be determined thus. The issues regarding the concerned thesis topic will be dealt with at a student level, purely on design basis. Due to large scale of the project and limited time period only required interior layouts will be shown.
Method and methodology
Main aspect to design and study is open space, semi open space and closed space of shopping Centre. These aspects will help to segregate the spaces according to activities provided. First step to proceed in design is to study proper case studies related to design topic (it may be live or literature case study). Make frequent visits to the site and note down all the activity spaces present there. Proper survey of the site should be done so as to analyse the traits in the site and also analyse the soil for design construction. Literature study will be done following all the norms (it may be according to DCR rules). Interviews of the people will be taken as many as possible and their experience they have and further will be compared to designing part. Also take their opinion about the design or the spaces they visited, so that drawback can be solved and implemented in the design. Also, the activities which are necessary but not present and are solved by implementing it.
After establishing need of the project and choices of entertainment for people, different activities are proposed. Reference studies will be done to include the individual functions (spaces) that have been proposed in this Entertainment Centre.
